Bat Chats are educational information sessions about Peachland bats and other species in the Okanagan.
The program is appropriate for all ages!
Program options include...
Bat Chats are held in the Peachland Visitor Centre AND/OR along the Bat House Interpretive Trail (depending on the one you attend).
July and August - Every Wednesday & Saturday at 10:30AM and 2:30PM. The 10:30AM option includes a walk on the Bat House Interpretive Trail, and an educational presentation on the bats along the way. Please check in at the Visitor Centre by 10AM. The 2:30PM option includes a bat presentation and crafts! Great for groups. Held at the Peachland Visitor Centre.
Open to the public, all ages - $5 per person
2. School & Group Tours for Children
Reservation required, no limit to number of students.
Students may be divided into groups according to numbers.
Includes brief history of the 1908 schoolhouse, bat chat presentation, craft time (and colouring sheets), a live viewing of the bats via in-roost cameras, and time permitting, a tour of the Interpretive Centre.
Story time is possible upon request.
$5 per person
3. Adult Tours
Reservation required, no limit to number of people.
Includes bat presentation, history tour of the Peachland Historic Primary School, tour of Legends of the Lake Interpretive Centre, and viewing of live footage of bats in the attic.
$5 per person
Optional: An author reading (of Darlene Hartford's children's books), as well as author signing! This option may be available upon request for booked bat chats. Request this while booking your bat chat!
